Born in the year of the Horse, I have always been a passionate animal lover. Having been born into an animal loving family, my love affair with animals started from a very early age. I grew up in a household that always had dogs, and I started riding horses when I was 12 years old. I am also very passionate about wildlife, my favourite holidays are ones spent in the bush, and my favourite books to read are also on this topic. I knew that when I left school I would definitely be going into a career with animals.
My career started off in the Equine field with me first obtaining a National Diploma in Equine Sciences and it was here that I was introduced to the concept of equine physical rehabilitation and holistic therapies. I attended many courses presented by international lectures, and in 2013 I became a qualified Equinology Equine Body Worker Level One. In 2014 I opened my own business, Equi-Hands, and started working with sport horses.
In 2015 I became aware of an industry that I didn’t even realise existed, Canine Rehabilitation. I had never even thought of dogs needing rehab, which is quite sad considering how many of my own dogs would have greatly benefitted from this field, and considering the fact that this is the very field I was working in with horses. And thus began my journey into Canine Rehabilitation. I attended my first canine course, the Caninology Canine Body Worker Certification Course, in 2015, and this is when I met the amazing team at Animal Health and Hydro.
In early 2016 I attended a Canine Hydrotherapy course, and in late 2016 I was blessed with the amazing opportunity to become a part of the incredible team at Animal Health and Hydro. I have been, and still am, exposed to a whole new, endless world of canine rehabilitation.
Being able to work with dogs and horses on a daily basis is a blessing for which I will be eternally grateful. When I left school I knew that the only thing I wanted to do was to give back to these amazing animals who give us endless joy, friendship, love, loyalty, and laughter. I am passionate about helping and healing our four legged soulmates.
In December 2017 I will attending the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) Course.
