JAYDE VILLET

Veterinary Physiotherapist (BSc Hons)
Jayde qualified from Equine-Librium College in 2024 and joined Animal Health and Hydro Newlands in 2025. Jayde treats dogs, cats as well as horses. Jayde is very interested in treating animals with neurological conditions and amongst the dogs, Bull Mastiffs are her firm favourite breed. Jayde’s other big love are the horse patients and while obtaining her qualification in Veterinary Physiotherapy, she also did a lot of work-riding. Therefore, Jayde has a lot of experience with these sensitive creatures. Jayde also treats the ponies at SARDA (alongside Stasa), allowing them to stay comfortable while doing their very important work with disabled children.
KAYLA DU TOIT

Veterinary Physiotherapist - Equine Librium
Kayla graduated from Equine-Librium College in 2017 and joined the Animal Health and Hydro Newlands team in 2025. Kayla has tons of experience treating canine and feline patients, and she also treats horses. Before joining Animal Health and Hydro Newlands, Kayla worked at some prominent Veterinary Physiotherapy clinics in Johannesburg including being a former Animal Health and Hydro Gauteng team member. Outside of work, Kayla spends a lot of time with her own dogs and she loves doing agility training and competing with them. In practice however, she has developed a particular interest in treating post-op patients, especially those presenting with neurological conditions. It is the variability of these patients combined with their response to treatment, which makes them both challenging and rewarding for Kayla to work with. Her knowledge and expertise in this area is very valuable. To learn more about Kayla CLICK HERE .
STASA MLADJENOVIC

Veterinary Physiotherapist BSc (Hons)
Staša graduated from Equine-Librium college in 2025 and joined AHAH in January 2026. She loves the problem-solving aspects of Veterinary Physiotherapy, so much so, that her final year research project focussed on how to introduce cats to underwater treadmill therapy, something which is an ongoing challenge in the field. She is also extremely passionate about land-based rehab and functional recovery of her patients. While she enjoys working with all animals, her biggest love is treating horses. Staša has been riding since the age of five, has volunteered in the past at SARDA & now treats horses there for AHAH. She particularly enjoys groundwork, incorporating practices such as long-lining, physio exercises, and conditioning programmes into her equine therapy programmes.

ZANDRI BASSON

Veterinary Physiotherapist, Dip Animal Physiotherapy
Zandri started working with horses at a stable yard upon finishing school. She realized her passion for the wellbeing of animals & began her diploma in Animal Physiotherapy through The College of Animal Physiotherapy. She worked as a rehab assistant with Dr Monique Crouch while studying & gained invaluable experience while helping with UWT & physiotherapy sessions. She now treats UWT & Physiotherapy patients for AHAH in Diep River. Zandri likes challenging cases that teach her new skills & if a patient happens to look like a wolf or a collie, so much the better! She has a calm, loving nature & strives to improve the wellbeing & comfort of any animal. Zandri loves seeing patients recover, overcome their anxiety & exceed expectations.
NINA JOUBERT

After completing her studies in communication, Nina worked as a copy writer before taking a gap year to work at a wildlife rehab centre. 1-year quickly turned into three as she worked with some of Africa’s most beloved animals including rhinos, pangolins and chimpanzees. She realized that caring for and being part of the rehabilitation process is what she wanted to do. So, she returned to complete her Greyfriars Hydrotherapy certification. When she is not in the Animal Health and Hydro underwater treadmill on a Friday morning, she works as a dog trainer to help people understand their dogs better. Nina believes that to give companion animals the lives they deserve, we must understand and meet their physical & mental needs. Nina is passionate about force-free training methods and has a particular passion for cooperative care. She has a special place in her heart for Collies, but admits she loves all dogs and sees dog hairs as her glitter.
HAYLEY KATZ

Regional Manager & Therapy Assistant
After working for years in eco-toursim & conservation, Hayley became interested in helping animals in a medical context. She manages the operations for the three AHAH branches & does bookings for Animal Health and Hydro Newlands (formerly Animal Physical Rehab Newlands). Hayley is also responsible for coordinating any in-house charity fundraisers when they take place. She also assists the therapists with many therapeutic modalities. Hayley also steps into the role of underwater treadmill ‘driver’ and therapy assistant when needed. Known as ‘crazy-cat-lady,’ Hayley has undertaken some further studies in feline behaviour & animal naturopathy & would love to integrate this training into the work she does at Animal Health and Hydro. Hayley is the ‘glue’ that keeps the team & the clients together.
THABANG THENE

Administration Assistant
Thabang started working at AHAH in October 2025. He was born in Cape Town but has strong ancestral roots in Matatiele in the Eastern Cape. Thabang really has the “gift-of-the-gab” and can talk to anyone, a trait that makes him well suited to providing clients with good customer service. After finishing his Office Administration studies at West Coast College in 2020, he undertook a short sales assistant course at MSC Business College. After this, he became a barista at Starbucks, and after only six months, he began training other baristas too. A year later, he became a Starbucks shift leader, which really cemented his confidence in engaging with clients. Working at AHAH, brings a new aspect to Thabang’s daily role as he is now able to connect with companion animals as well as people, which feels like such an amazing a gift. Everything he learns at work, follows him home, allowing him to care for his own three dogs better.
ISAAC LMEDI

Therapy Assistant
Isaac has been working at Animal Health and Hydro Newlands (previously known as Animal Physical Rehab Newlands) since February 2014. Prior to that he worked as a therapy assistant for Megan Kelly. In fact, Isaac has the most underwater treadmill experience than anyone else on the team and he knows the hydrotherapy room like the back of his hand. He assists the therapists with most underwater treadmill sessions and is responsible for maintaining the treadmill machine and all of the rehab equipment. He is a phenomenal dog-handler, but he actually has a special place in his heart for our feline patients. Every patient LOVES Isaac and they always look to him in the underwater treadmill for treats which encourage them to walk well and remain engaged and enthusiastic about their rehab sessions.
