The 84-point check system that is used during my full body massage consists of muscle bellies, muscle insertion and origin points, as well as points of common soft tissue tension in the horse. These points were developed in order to make sure that all important areas are palpated during the massage. The points are located around common areas of stress and strain in the horse. They also address all the major muscle bellies. They are also found around joints where movement can cause tension from compensatory patterns or injuries, and even from the simple fact that the horse is being ridden and is having to take the weight of his tack and rider.

The 84-point check system is basically a check list incorporated into a routine to make sure that all the palpable, and accessible, muscles are addressed during the massage.
